Coaching

Bowls Lessons & Coaching

English Bowls Coaching Scheme courses are provided by qualified coaches including Introductory Courses for new bowlers.
Courses are usually available on Saturday mornings starting at 9-30am on the indoor green (subject to availability)

Courses can also be arranged during weekdays and evenings if required.

New bowlers courses take about 2 hours per session and there are 4 or 5 sessions to each course. The bowler is introduced to basic rules and etiquette of the game with the view to achieve a level of competence at the end of the course to have confidence to play without guidance.

The course will provide information to enable a new member to be aware of the different  games, matches, leagues, competitions and friendly "roll ups" available.

To join a course contact one of the Coaching Co-ordinators - Peter Boulden  or David Thurlow at the Club.
You do not need any bowls in the first instance - the club provides bowls for tuition.
Dress standards must be observed but are relaxed for coaching lessons. The requirement is to wear grey trousers or skirts and a white top but It is acceptable to wear similar colours for lessons.
Correct bowls shoes must be worn but for the first lesson it is acceptable to go on the green without shoes.
